The Glenwood-Lynwood Public Library District serves its community as an informational, educational, cultural, and recreational resource, providing materials, training, and services. They were looking for an artist to paint their shed, outdoor wall, and fence and bring life to their new outdoor space used for community events.
At the start of the project, we got a tour of the space and learned more about the goals of the client. The visit serves as inspiration for the ideation and final concept of the design. This process begins and continues with the client's collaboration.
After the site visit, we merge the project goals with the inspiration to extract visual themes into a design concept. This process includes a feedback and reiteration phase that allows the client to have a chance to have their requests heard before entering into the final design phase.
Once the design is approved, we start to source supplies and prep the walls, cleaning the surface and applying a quality primer that will help promote paint consistency and longevity. The design is then sketched directly on the wall before painting.
The best part of any mural is seeing the reaction of the community! The awe is especially satisfying from the client and their team, who had a part in creating the final design. A high-grade sealant is placed over the final artwork to preserve the vibrancy and protect it from the elements. As a special treat, we take and share professional photos of the final work so the client can have it for any promotional needs.
